Verified ReviewerPoor materials used in build
The unit this came out of was $8175.00 installed 9/2022. Today the coil had to be replaced because of either build quality or materials quality. See photo.
User's recommendation: Steer clear until they learn to use better quality and thicker materials

I purchased a new a/c unit in 2022. It came with a 10 year warranty.
In 2024 the outer coil started leaking and needed to be replaced.
Trane says the part won't be available for 5-7 weeks. WEEKS.
As of 7-31-2024 I am on day 11 of no a/c in 110+ degree temperatures.
Trane customer service is incredibly slow to respond and so far has been completely unhelpful.

Verified Buyer | The Dalles, OregonAnother failure; slow and expensive service
I own heat pumps from Florida Heat Pumps (GSHP, 16 years now, no failures); Bryant (ASHP, 10 years, had a temp sensor failure after ~8 years), Mitsubishi (ASHP, 5 years, no failures), and Trane (XV18 ASHP, less than 4 years, two failures). It hasn't been difficult to stop this Trane.
Worse yet, the only local Trane dealer charges $350 per hour to fix it, and the latest repair was delayed for weeks while the new part sat in their shop until I loudly complained. The only reason to give them any stars was that the initial install was very quick and done well.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Case#287297 I am just getting a run around trying to contact my “consumer relations escalation specialist” Am trying to get the status of my reimbursement request. I get emails from Trane to contact this person.
After being on hold for 30 minutes (more than once) I am being told she is busy. PLEASE ESCALATE THIS CASE SINCE THE PRESENT ESCALATION DEPT.

Verified ReviewerHorrible company! Bad product, customer service, techs and warranty!
Do not buy! They do not honor warranty, equipment, or their certified techs!
Stay away and buy a different brand! Nothing from Trane, Runtru, American Standard, or another equipment manufactured by Trane or any Trane products! Trane and their 'certified techs' are set up to rip the consumer off!
Check their reviews from reputable sites like Consumer Affairs and BBB. Horrible.
Preferred solution: I'd like them to install the new unit their supplier provided that their 'certified techs' could not repair the original one purchased!
Unreliable
This AC system is unreliable. We have used it for less than 3 years, and both a minor and major component have failed in the last 90 days.
We have no AC on the hottest days of South Texas summer. Repair in one case was fast, in the other case has taken more than 48 hours even after paying the emergency after hours fee.dint
User's recommendation: Look at another brand.

Verified Reviewer | Lynn Haven, FloridaHorrible product and company
Do not buy anything from Trane or RunTru! They do not care about their customers!
I purchased a RunTru system 3 years ago and it has never worked correctly. Ive been given excuse after excuse from their certified technicians and charged every time! A brand new unit has had the compressor replaced, condensor, lines, all in 3 years! Yet rhey have no record of the work?
Over 6 service calls in 3 years and my system has never worked right from new! My electric bills have double, sometimes trippled, since installing this system and it does not cool correctly. I live in s florida and AC is essential yet they have never fixed it! Horrible product, horrible customer service, buyer beware!
Stay away!
I registered both units and contacted them numerous times, but miraculously they have no record of any of my previous complaints or warranty registration! I strongly request anyone who has had multiple issues with new, Trane or RunTru, systems to reach out to me!
- Horrible product and customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Avoid!
Trane refuses to resolve the issues with the AC unit we purchased from them
We've experiencing issues with the AC unit since the first month we got it, that was 3 years ago. every couple of months our AC unit would break down and stop working.
at times we had to call for an "emergency service " because the heat inside the house was unbearable.
Repairs on a monthly basis costs us a fortune, and we demanded compensation or replace the unit, because what they sold us was defective since day one. Trane refused to cooperate and hung up the phone on us every time we called.Never Do not
User's recommendation: Do not purchase AC unit from this company. you'd be wasting your money and time.
I had a new trane heat pump system put in my home believing that although expensive, counted on it being as advertised! We were sold a unit that actually was to large for our home! All a problem!
Danco comfort services in waco tx.
Because of a bad review now says that they can't have bad reviews like this so they are not coming back! I could go all day!
In short I feel I got screwed!
Because my unit is not operating as it should. I have to place thermometers all through house and go recalibrate the unit or it will cool 6to8 degrees below what it should!
User's recommendation: I would not recommend period!

Verified ReviewerTerrible Warranty
I recently purchased a house, and my HVAC system broke down but I discovered that there was a warranty that I was not made aware of. When I contacted Trane to inquire about the warranty, they informed me that the warranty had not been transferred to my name, and I would not be covered for any repairs or replacements.
I unknowingly missed the 90-day transfer window as I did not work with a realtor and purchased the house through a leasing agency. Please be aware that the system is only 6 years old, and the warranty is for 10 years. According to Trane, the warranty reverted to a 5-year warranty because the transfer was not submitted in time.
I was shocked and frustrated by this news, as I had no knowledge of the warranty when I purchased the house. Trane has forced me into a very difficult situation where I will have to pay thousands of dollars to repair or replace the system because of this loophole.
Trane is taking advantage of me because at no point was, I made aware of the warranty although they knew my exact date of closing and that the home was under new ownership.
I know this because they were able to pull up all those details when I called the warranty department. I am now faced with the difficult decision of having my wife and 3 young children in a cold house (downstairs) or paying to replace a second HVAC system in less than a year.
Yes, I replaced my other system a few months ago but that system was 20 years old so had anticipated it going out of commission.
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of transparency and communication from Trane as well as their lack of empathy. I would caution anyone considering using this company to be aware of their policies and make sure that all warranties are transferred properly when purchasing a home.
- Warranty sucks
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Proof read the warranty before purchase and clarify all details
Tech support
Auto hang up did not speak to anyone. Rings a few times then hung up. Extremely hard to find a good tech support number
User's recommendation: Don't call
Little to know customer service
Bought 3 new Trane HVAC systems almost 3 years ago. No problem with 2 units that lie on the platform.
One unit stands up and leaks water constantly.
Opened a warranty case and Trane has been stalling ever since I purchased the systems. They almost agree to fix the unit then they cancel the case and process all over again.
User's recommendation: Avoid. Go to another brand
Disappointed with customer service
The Appleton address is incorrect, this happened in Sheboygan but there was no address for Sheboygan and wouldn’t let me add one
I did an online chat with customer service and explained how the igniter had to be replaced twice within 1year on our furnace. We were frustrated with the high cost for a service calls and had no heat living in Wisconsin in winter.
I was told they were connecting me to a professional and I would have to pay $1 that would be refundable. A small charge but nothing like adding insult to injury
- Good furnace
- Igniter switch
Preferred solution: If this happened once I wouldn’t be as angry but twice in a year.

I want to talk to the trane tech support I have problem to recommission the EXV on CGAM 080F 2C02 chiller
I have equipment down
I have had to replace two symbio boards. The info I had been given was inaccurate.
I spent nearly a thousand dollars on a board that wasn't even two years old. The board was not in stock locally.
The board was not programmed for use with the model and serial numbers I provided. This is not cheap increasing the price slightly should take field issues out of the equation.
User's recommendation: Provide a $3 thumb drive with the board and written instructions.

You should not be blaming Trane. Your home inspector should have listed install dates for water heater, HVAC and roof. He should have had advised to contact any manufacturer to verify any warranties.
